Tips for First Timers

Come on in and we will help you unroll your mat and get started. Don’t have a mat? We’ll help out with that too!

What Class Should I Take?

You may take any class you like. You can review the class descriptions by clicking here. We have wonderful teachers here at Sweet Peace and recommend that you try them all! Please let our teachers know about any injuries or special needs you may have prior to the beginning of your class.

How Do I Get Started?

Chose your class on our schedule and arrive 10 minutes before class starts. Be sure to let the iteacher know that you are new to the studio or new to yoga.

What Should I Wear to Class?

We suggest comfortable workout clothing. You do not need to wear designer yoga attire. We recommend that you practice barefoot, leaving your shoes at the front door.

How Should I Prepare for Class?

Try not to eat for two hours before your class or eat lightly. If you have a yoga mat bring it. If not, we you are welcome to borrow one of ours. Many of our students like to bring a water bottle as well. We have a water cooler on the upstairs Sun Porch to refill your bottle. We have bolsters, straps, blocks, and other accessories on hand that your teacher may recommend.  If you would like to purchase your own supplies we have props for sale in our Boutique.
